Belgian Minister of Justice Vincent Van Kuickenborn confirmed the detention of Abdelila El M. with the words: “Our top wanted list has indeed been arrested in Turkey.”

Belgium requested the extradition of El M., who was being held in a temporary detention center in Istanbul.

According to media reports, he claims that the Turkish authorities are reacting to the Belgian authorities because of the decision of Ferie Erdal, in connection with which there may be difficulties in the extradition of El M.
