‘Device failure’ investigation from France to Apple

ISTANBUL (IGFA) – According to the Economist magazine, the Paris prosecutor’s office said that the National Investigation Service of the General Directorate for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Prevention (DGCRRF) has filed a lawsuit following a complaint filed against the company by the HOP (Stop Planned Dysfunction) association in December 2022.

The lawsuit against Apple alleges “interfering with dozens of ways to repair device parts and dictating methods that make repairs difficult for unauthorized services.”

The company is accused of not making the equipment available to the user at an affordable price and on time.

Recall that Apple paid a fine of 25 million euros to close the investigation launched in France in 2020 to deceive users.
