February car sales record

SAFAKNA TURKEY – The sales momentum seen in the automotive sector in January continued into February.

The February market for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles grew by 63.4 percent compared to February 2022 and reached 81,148 units, according to the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). This number of sales was recorded as the highest unit in February.

In February, car sales increased by 56.5 percent compared to the same month last year and amounted to 58 thousand 907 units, while the market for light commercial vehicles increased by 85.2 percent to 22 thousand 241 units. The market for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 74.3 percent compared to the 10-year average sales in February.

The automotive market increased by 65.8 percent compared to the 10-year average February sales. The light commercial vehicle market increased by 101.6 percent compared to the 10-year average sales in February.

In January-February, the market grew by 50.4%

In January-February 2023, the total market for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 50.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 132 thousand 42 units.

In January-February 2023, vehicle sales increased by 44.3 percent compared to the previous year and reached 96,195 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 69.7 percent to 35,847 units.
