ANKARA (IGFA) – President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the International Donor Conference organized by the EU Commission and Sweden, Interim President of the Council of the EU, to support the earthquake-affected regions of Turkey and Syria through a direct line from the Presidential Complex.
President Erdogan thanked the members and institutions of the European Union (EU), the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations for supporting Turkey during the earthquake.
Declaring that the cost of the destruction caused by the earthquake was approximately $104 billion, Erdogan said: “We will rebuild and rebuild all our cities destroyed by the earthquake, with their infrastructure, superstructures, jobs, historical and cultural values.”
Erdogan said their goal is to build structures that will meet housing needs in the earthquake zone within a year.
