ANKARA (IGFA) – According to Polish media reports, a powerful explosion occurred in the region.
Two people died because of a rocket that fell from an unknown source in the village of Pshevodov, on the country’s border with Ukraine.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki issued statements after an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Stressing that Poland is a member of NATO, the strongest alliance in world history, Morawiecki said the ability to activate Article 4, which allows a NATO member to consult with allies when it believes its territorial integrity, independence or security is under threat, is on table.
UKRAINE LAUNCHED?
US officials said: “Initial findings indicate that the missile that hit Poland was launched by Ukraine to shoot down a Russian missile.”
Paweł Schroth, head of the Polish presidential cabinet, said that President Andrzej Duda had decided to convene the National Security Council today.
Schroth said in a statement on Twitter that the meeting would take place at 12:00 noon.

Ambassadors of NATO member countries will discuss the missile attack on Poland at the meeting of the North Atlantic Council, which will be held today. A NATO spokesman said in a statement that the emergency meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
