Research continues to uncover new ways to slow down the cognitive decline associated with dementia. Dr. Michael Mosley believes dementia prevention is better than cure and takes daily steps to keep his brain “healthy”. “I like to start the day with an egg (rich in protein) because it tastes good and keeps you feeling full longer,” the doctor shared, sharing that the first thing he does every day to get rid of a mind-blowing situation is “a big breakfast.”

A study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease also supported this claim. The results showed that a diet rich in protein, such as meat and legumes, can help prevent brain disease. Dr. Mosley added that those who ate 54 grams of protein per day were 12 times more likely to have high brain amyloid levels than those who ate around 118 grams.
